Here are the various process we take in restoring your businesses and homes after smoke damage.
We ensure preventive measures are in place.
One of our method's earliest and most critical elements is containment, which is the first and most significant step. As a result, the restoration procedure will be more time-consuming and expensive if you don't take certain preventive precautions, such as enclosing all damaged areas and removing all ash and residue.

If your property has fire sprinklers or the fire was so intense that water hoses were used to put it out, you'll need help with both fire and smoke damage restoration and water damage restoration. Count on our crew to promptly remove any standing water and fully dry your structure using commercial-grade water extraction equipment.
We remove valuables and help restore lost documents.
We are just as responsible for protecting your property as repairing it. As a result, we perform a complete inspection of your home, removing any valuables and ensuring that any carpets, clothes, furniture, and other items are safely removed from the impacted areas. A company owner's loss of important documents and media assets may be devastating when disasters such as fires occur. Fortunately, we employ the latest record recovery technology and processes to ensure that as much of your valuable data as possible may be recovered. We will work with you and your adjuster to verify that we are adhering to all of your policy's requirements if there are any unsalvageable goods.
We perform a thorough cleaning.
A thorough cleaning will begin when all water has been removed, and the required goods have been safely removed from the building. Complete cleaning, disinfection, and deodorization of all furniture, carpets, walls, ceilings, cabinetry, worktops, HVAC systems, and other areas requiring expert care are usually part of this procedure.

Calling us into the site guarantees the use of these devices and more, should the situation call for it.
Detection Tools
Our ability to detect hidden areas of mold damage in Stockton homes has drastically improved in recent years, thanks to advances in detection technology. We stock and use infrared cameras to identify patches of growth behind walls and other surfaces that can completely prevent visual detection. We also use moisture detecting thermo-hygrometers to identify sources of moisture in the home and eliminate them to avoid any further spread of spores that can develop into new colonies.
Our top priority when dealing with any species of fungus is safety for anyone living in the household. To this end, we employ industrial strength sanitizing tools to kill off any spores remaining in the home after we remove growth through traditional means. Our high-powered UV ray generators can wipe an entire area clean of dangerous microbes and spores quickly and without using any additional resources.
Complete Odor Removal
We at SERVPRO equip our crews with the strongest, most modern odor elimination tools on the market. Using chemical fogging devices, we can reach into even the most inaccessible parts of your home and neutralize odor molecules at the source. We also use some specially formulated products for this purpose. Once we are done, your home might smell newer and more fresh than the day you bought it.

Fire Safety for Kids: 3 Tips
It is good to go through a fire safety plan together once a year. Sometimes this can be hard to remember, so we recommend that you schedule it around another yearly activity like your car registration or annual taxes. If children are younger, they can need help with a plan for escaping in case there is a fire. So how do you make sure they have a plan? If you don’t know exactly where to get started, here are three tips you can try:
Tip #1 – Make it a game
While adults will probably need to replace the batteries in the smoke detectors, that doesn’t mean that you can’t have the kiddos play “hide and go seek” to find them and point them out. This helps them remember where they are and turns battery replacement into fun activities. This concept can also be done for fire extinguishers so that you can check the dates on them. While fire extinguishers generally have a 10-to-12-year life expectancy, they should be replaced every ten years. If you don’t know where the date on your extinguisher, you can use a permanent marker to put a checkmark on the extinguisher each year and replace it when you have 10. The kiddos can count them each year to help you check.
Tip #2 – Have a fire drill day
Have a day where the kids can practice how to get out of the house and over to the neighbors. While children who are 3 and 4 years old should be taught how to dial 911, sometimes they must have a person they can go to and a plan. Involve the neighbors in the project so that when the kids come, they can be home to answer the door and tell the kids how great they did. Also, have a backup plan. If the neighbors aren’t home, what are they to do?
Tip #3 – Don’t just say no
When you are working in the kitchen and ask the kids to back away from the stove, tell them why. Remind them that they stay out of certain zones because of fire safety.
These three tips can help your kiddos not only be a part of fire prevention and safety but also instill in them the need to stay vigilant so that they practice fire safety in their own homes when they grow up.

Our Certified Technicians Are Prepared to Restore Your Stockton Home After Water Damage

Leaking windows can create a moisture source in your home. Call SERVPRO to make it "Like it never even happened."
A Leaky Window Causes Water Damage in a Stockton Home
Are the windows of your home getting older? Time and years of exposure to the elements are all it takes for a reliable window to lose its water- and airtight properties and become a potential host for mold, warped or rotting wood, and soggy drywall. If left unchecked, this can cause a plethora of problems in any home.
If a leaky window is bringing water damage into your Stockton living room, the pros at SERVPRO are ready to assist you. Our certified technicians are highly trained to address fire, water, mold, as well as cleaning carpets, drapery, and upholstery. As a result, our teams specialize not just in cleaning immediate damage but also in preserving and restoring your possessions to their pre-damage condition.
Water Clean Up
When our team comes to you, we can begin by evaluating moisture levels both in and behind the drywall around your window. From there, we can move and clean any furniture and drapery that has been affected by water damage. To address the moisture buildup around your window, we can establish a polyethylene drying chamber to accelerate the process of water elimination. This chamber can be made smaller as the amount of surface that requires moisture removal shrinks. Our team may create small vent holes to facilitate airflow during drying.
An air mover can be positioned at a 45-degree angle to the surface to dry around your window. This setup allows for moist air to bounce off surfaces and away from the wall so that warm, dry air from an industrial-grade dehumidifier can replace it. This process is not unlike positioning a pool cue to bounce a ball off of the cushioned edge and into the pocket of your choosing.
SERVPRO of Stockton is Faster To Any Size Disaster because we know disasters do not occur only during regular business hours. We can come to you at all hours, including on holidays, to address damage in your home. Call us today at (209) 477-3090 for a swift, effective response to your disaster.

SERVPRO of Stockton Removes Water Damage 24/7
Stockton, California, is nearing the completion of its second century as a city. The community was named after U.S. Navy Commodore Robert F. Stockton, an early adopter of steam propulsion for naval vessels and a key player in the Mexican-American War for aiding in California’s capture.
Today, the San Joaquin County seat is home to over 300,000 residents and is the 13th largest California city. Stockton’s climate is Mediterranean in nature, featuring dry, hot summers and mild, comparatively wet winters. Precipitation is scant, seldom exceeding 3 inches in a given month, with the summers proving particularly dry.
For over 70 years, Stockton has been a central filming location for many different purposes, such as depicting the Mississippi delta, Ivy League campuses, and the American Midwest. Films shot in California’s Sunrise Seaport include:
- Cool Hand Luke (1967)
- Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981)
- Porgy and Bess (1959)
- Hot Shots! Part Deux (1993)
- All the King’s Men (1949)
Movies set in Stockton include John Huston’s Fat City, a 1972 film adaptation of a Leonard Gardner novel of the same name.
Vineyards in the Stockton Area
Stockton’s climate is highly favorable for wine-making. Such towns as nearby Lodi are renowned for their wineries and vineyards. Many factors are taken into account for the six-month growing season, such as sun exposure, temperature extremes, and humidity levels.
Stockton and nearby Lodi are capitalizing on their portion of California’s massive wine country, paving the way for family-owned operations and boutique wineries to create unique wine-drinking experiences for locals and visitors alike. Better still, Stockton hosts many events and festivals throughout the year that pair perfectly with both well-established and brand-new wine producers.
Accomplished wineries near Stockton include:
- Michael David Winery, known for such wines as Inkblot and Freakshow
- d’Art Wines, with wines including Dog Day Red and its 2018 Alicante Bouschet
- Harney Lane Winery, featuring wines like their 2019 Home Ranch Chardonnay and 2018 Lizzy James Old Vine Zinfandel
- Sorelle Winery, acclaimed for such creations as their 2016 Barbera and 2014 Nebbiolo

Why Is Moisture Testing an Important Part of Preventing Further Mold Damage?
9/16/2020 (Permalink)
SERVPRO can detect hidden leaks which can lead to mold growth.
Stockton Homeowners Hoping Mold Damage Treatments Will Prevent Further Growth
People living in Stockton know the importance of taking good care of their homes. Home upkeep makes for a better living environment, and it also boosts your house value if you decide to sell.
Unfortunately, some home upkeep tasks seem never-ending, such as dealing with mold damage in Stockton homes. Anyone who tackles fungal growth in their home knows how easily it can grow back or appear in another part of the building.
Why does mold come back so quickly?
The mold you see consists of tiny tube-like cells called hyphae, which bond together to form a visible colony known as a mycelium. The mycelium releases new microscopic spores, which drift throughout your home on air currents or even carried on clothes, shoes, and pets. The spores can start a new colony anywhere that has:
- Moisture
- Organic material for them to feed on
- Darkness and the correct temperature
What can I do to prevent new colonies from forming?
The bad news is that you cannot wholly prevent new colonies from forming. Mold occurs in nature and can re-enter your home at any time.
The good news is that there are steps you can take to reduce the chance of fungal regrowth. One thing you can do is minimize moisture in the area – and SERVPRO can help you with that.
How does moisture testing help?
You cannot see always see moisture. You might notice a tell-tale sign such as water dripping from a leaky faucet or moisture stains on the wall. However, moisture can also gather behind baseboards, behind furniture, inside walls, or under carpets.
Moisture testing reveals wet areas that are ripe for mold growth.
How does SERVPRO test for moisture?
We have several pieces of equipment to hand:
- Moisture sensors to test carpets, padding, and the floor underneath
- Moisture meters to measure moisture levels in various materials
- Thermo-hygrometers to measure air temperature and humidity levels
- Thermal imaging cameras to capture infrared images inside building materials
Once we have a clear idea of the moisture levels, we can devise a drying scheme to reduce them and make the area less inviting to mold spores.
If you suspect mold damage in your house, do not delay. Call SERVPRO of Stockton at (209) 477-3090.

How Do You Begin the Loss Assessment?
We must have a total understanding of the flood damage in Stockton so that our crew can formulate a detailed plan for action. Our team works with you to determine the level of damage and conditions that may have been pre-existing. This thorough evaluation helps us streamline the cleanup and drying approach so that restoration efforts get focused on any contents or materials directly impacted by the water loss.
Why Call SERVPRO for Help?
We use tried-and-true methods for flood restoration. Everything we do to streamline recovery helps to save both time and money for our customers. Additionally, we work hard to reduce potential harm from microbial threats and the onset of mildew and mold. We also bring air movers, dehumidifiers, and other equipment to each water loss job to make everything go faster.
Is the Floodwater in My Home Dangerous?
Floodwaters bring a broad range of potential contaminants into your home that must be addressed with care and professional cleaning agents. Debris, silt, bacteria, and chemicals barely scratch the surface of what could be contained in the water flooding into your home. Our team works quickly to block off the flood loss to keep water from migrating as we begin the cleanup process.
• Powerful pump extractors mounted on our trucks allow us to pull up hundreds of gallons of water, including small debris.
• We treat the flood-loss zone using EPA-registered agents that lessen the potential of harmful contaminants spreading throughout the home.
• All of our crew wear personal protective equipment (PPE) for both our safety and to keep from tracking contamination from one room to the next as we work.
What are Air Movers and How Do They Work?
One of the most productive tools that we use for water loss projects is our air mover technology. These are high-velocity, centrifugal fans that optimize airflow, which then speeds up drying times in conjunction with our formula for appropriate humidity levels and temperatures in the loss zone.
Understanding Centrifugal Air Movers
Our inventory of equipment at SERVPRO includes hundreds of recovery tools, fans, and more. The centrifugal air movers produce concentrated air blasts that our team directs to specific points within the loss zone. Options include:
• Axial air movers: Great for use in open spaces, these air movers put out an immense amount of air. This helps to boost airflow throughout the impacted area while increasing evaporation. We often place these at exit points to help channel the moist air outside by way of negative airflow.
• Low-profile air movers: These low-profile models allow our crew to reach tight or challenging spaces that might be difficult to dry. We use these air movers for drying using carpet floating methods, and we also have several snout attachments that we can change out depending on the situation.
Can I Use My Dehumidifier?
We have industrial-strength desiccant dehumidifiers that we use in tandem with our fans and air movers to create the ultimate environment. Our unique formula for drying tells us how many fans and dehumidifiers to set up within the loss zone to amplify drying while also addressing the relative humidity levels.
What is a Controlled Demolition?
Materials impacted by harmful floodwaters must be removed and replaced to ensure safety and structural integrity. Drywall is porous, so our team uses flood cuts several inches above the waterline to remove all saturated materials. This also allows us to position our air movers to complete wall cavity drying, thus ensuring no hidden moisture gets left behind.
For cleaning up during the last phases of the project, our skilled technicians address residue and soil removal by wiping down all surfaces and cleaning any contents exposed to the standing water. We also remove and replace floodwater-saturated carpets and then deodorize your interior. Our Green Fleet carries a range of products and tools that facilitate easy cleanup and neutralization of foul odors, including ozone machines and thermal foggers.
Flood damage is no match for our trained team at SERVPRO of Stockton. To have a crew deployed to your location 24/7 for emergency assessment, call us at (209) 477-3090.

Mitigating Mold Damage In Stockton
3/8/2020 (Permalink)
Once mold takes root in your property, it can keep recurring.
SERVPRO Considers Long-term Results When Mitigating Mold Damage in Affected Stockton Homes
We know how much of a nuisance mold development in your Stockton property can be because apart from posing some health risks, such growth is also an eyesore. You might be tempted to strip away every item or material covered in the dark mold spots, but such drastic action might not fix the issue – apart from being costly.
Involving a professional in the restoration of mold damage in your Stockton property ensures that every step necessary to remove and prevent mold growth from recurring is taken. When our SERVPRO team visits your home, we check all areas at risk of mold development rather than concentrating only on the affected areas. The main driving force behind such infestations is the presence of moisture. We use various equipment, including moisture meters, thermo-hygrometers, and thermal cameras, to check for moisture levels in materials, the air, and wetness in concealed areas. Such checks help establish if other areas are at risk of sprouting mold.
Following proper procedures helps ensure efficient removal of all traces of mold colonies. Our IICRC certified AMRT, Applied Microbial Remediation Technicians, understands various traits of fungus and therefore takes appropriate action. For example, we expect to find loose debris and dust containing spores, which readily spread when disturbed. Steps such as vacuuming areas before starting other cleaning procedures help remove loose debris. We also establish engineering controls such as sealing off doorways and other openings with 6-mil plastic sheets.
Our SERVPRO team cleans different surfaces vigorously to remove mold colonies. Procedures such as wire brushing help clean areas with massive deposits. We usually combine the physical aspect of cleaning with chemical actions such as the use of disinfectants to destroy the microbes through physical contact and antimicrobial agents, which inhibit growth. We also have Sporicides that control fungal and bacterial spores. If the growth affects porous materials, we remove the affected materials entirely to guarantee the removal of all traces of mold.
Once mold takes root in your property, it can keep recurring. Call SERVPRO of Stockton at (209) 477-3090 to help take proper control procedures.

Mold infestations can spread rather quickly. Contact SERVPRO 24/7 365 days a year for remediation services.
Why SERVPRO Is an Excellent Choice for Mold Damage Remediation in Stockton
When mold growth enters the picture in your Stockton house, you might have no idea where to turn. The presence of mold in your dwelling can invoke fear of health complications and become embarrassing, especially if you attempt to manage it on your own yet fail in the effort. Mold smells unpleasant, and the staining it leaves on surfaces for all to see is a constant reminder that organisms are growing in the place you and your family call home. Our ability to remediate mold infestation following industry best practices is why we are highly rated by satisfied customers.
Change Your Mindset About Mold
One thing about mold damage Stockton residents need to grasp is that it is impossible to claim truthfully that the fungal organisms and their spores can ever be eliminated from your home. Mold spores are everywhere. Molds are critical to the environment; without the 100,000 plus species breaking down organic waste, we would be overwhelmed with debris. Molds inside attack organic building materials, however, one reason why we follow research-based methodologies to abate unwanted growth. Specific susceptible individuals react adversely to mold spores and residues, another reason why reliable mold remediation is the service we are proud to offer.
A Four-Step Process to Mold Management
When we assess and plan for mold remediation, we adhere to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) protocol. The science behind the procedure is why SERVPRO follows the process. It has four primary steps:
Contain the Mold
Because mold spores and residues are light and able to drift on air currents, it is crucial to keep these particulates in a secure space while we work to remove the microbial infestation. We use 16-mil polyethylene sheeting to close off the mold-containing area, employing air scrubbing technology to ensure a tight seal.
Remove the Mold
Although we do use antimicrobials at other times in the process, it is essential to understand the mold organisms must be physically brushed or scraped off solid surfaces. The success of this approach is why SERVPRO chooses this direct method. If porous materials are affected, we have options like soda blasting that remove mold and chemically incapacitate its ability to grow even if bits remain deeply embedded.
Clean Up Residues
During the removal process, spores shed, and pieces of mold organisms fall. We are persistent in our efforts to vacuum and wet-wipe debris. Our use of HEPA-filtered vacuums and EPA-registered cleaners is why SERVPRO meets the mark in every remediation job.
Dry Out the Area
Mold does not grow in the absence of moisture. Remediation fails if leaks continue or humidity remains high. Our dedication to eliminating moisture issues and the ability to address drying challenges is why SERVPRO is a full-service mold remediation company.
You need a company that ticks all the boxes when it comes to high-quality mold remediation services, why SERVPRO of Stockton fits the bill. Call us at (209) 477-3090 to set up a mold abatement evaluation.

What Can Be Done About the Mold Odor in Stockton Homes?
Health effects are the primary threat of mold growth and migration throughout your Stockton home, but it is not the only effect that our SERVPRO professionals must address when we arrive. Depending on the severity and time that colonization has been allowed to continue, your home could contend with widespread malodors along with the airborne contaminants. Addressing these conditions is also essential, as prolonged odor exposure for specific materials can become more and more costly to neutralize.
That same odor that becomes a struggle to remove from specific materials and contents within your home can be the initial indicator for many about the mold damage in Stockton homes. It often lingers as a harsh, musty odor that can overpower areas. When you are smelling active colonization, there is also a strong likelihood that you are breathing in some of the volatile organic compounds, spores, and other potential contaminants thriving in the area as well.
Malodors caused by mold damage rarely go away on their own, even with direct remediation efforts. That is why deodorization is a part of every remediation project that we undertake, ensuring that any lingering scents get addressed with our line of premier odor removal products and equipment. We have an extensive line of potent deodorizers to run in our thermal fogging machines, many of which can leave a pleasant citrus or cinnamon smell behind.
Many of our remediation tactics can also reduce the strength and severity of lingering odors in the house. Our SERVPRO team utilizes practices like soda blasting, which can eliminate mold colonies without damaging the host material, but in doing so, also reduces a catalyst to the musty scent in the damaged area. In the worst cases, we can use our in-house licensed (#937457) contractors for controlled demolition approaches and repairs where necessary.
Mold can be a disastrous presence in your home, and one that many property owners do not fully know how to handle. Let our experienced Applied Microbial Remediation Technicians help. Give our SERVPRO of Stockton team a call today at (209) 477-3090.

How SERVPRO Technicians Turn Around Flood Damage in Stockton Homes
Northern California is known for its excellent year-round weather; however, flood damage happens most often when sudden, intense storms crop up in the area.
When a Stockton home receives flood damage, the technicians arrive quickly to begin water extraction and cleanup efforts. It is not uncommon for floodwater to bring in foul odors, debris, sludge and other factors compounding the cleanup.
Why SERVPRO?
The technicians have a diverse array of equipment to tackle any problem the flood damage in the home presents. Along with their knowledge for restoration methods from all types of water damage, the technicians are also well-versed in working safely and avoiding cross-contamination during flood loss mitigation.
Safety First
Since groundwater has a rating as a class three biohazard, SERVPRO technicians wear full protective gear and test the water to determine what is in it before the clean up, so they use the appropriate bactericide or antimicrobials. In cases where only a portion of the home has damage, containment to inhibit cross-contamination is a common practice.
Controlled Demolition Speeds Restoration Efforts
Groundwater, even in small amounts, is damaging. Sheetrock wicks it rapidly and begins to buckle or warp. This requires flood damage removal and technicians remove it cleanly by cutting several inches above the waterline. The result is a far larger opening that allows more significant amounts of airflow and dries the water loss areas. Delaminated tiles also require removal and receive an inspection for cleaning potential and reuse. It is dependent on the materials used in construction and types of sealants that lend to whether or not there are restoration possibilities.
Rebuilding and Repairs Does Not Have to Be a Hassle
SERVPRO technicians understand flood loss in a home is a highly stressful event, and seeing your home under controlled demolition conditions may look hopeless. To lessen anxiety for homeowners, SERVPRO can offer restoration, repairs, and reconstruction as a one-stop service under their general contractor licenses:#937457.
SERVPRO of Stockton at (209) 477-3090 is ready to handle flood damage in homes 24/7 from cleanup to rebuilding. The technicians are local and arrive quickly because We're Faster to Any Size Disaster.

Storms, fire, water, and mold. SERVPRO of Stockton is your natural disaster recovery team.
SERVPRO’s Fast Restoration Services for Stockton Homes
We have sought out every single way to be a valuable asset to the Greater Stockton area, which goes far beyond our ability to handle disasters like fire, water, storm, and mold loss situations. This same mentality has helped us gain the prestige of becoming one of the Top 100 SERVPRO franchises in the country, and this has been an attractive quality to the top-tier restoration technician talent in the region to help continue to improve our reputation and regard in the communities we serve.
Fire Damage
We live in an area prone to wildfires, and as such, we have had to focus the training of fire damage recovery in Stockton to smoke damage cleanup and removal as well. Smoke is one of the most detrimental effects, especially in a wildfire, and can substantially compromise the interior and exterior of properties that otherwise suffer no symptoms. We have sophisticated equipment that can address both residues and odors that smoke damage can cause to a house.
We have a skilled content management team that can work quickly against the damage timetable when fires impact Stockton properties. Not only must our professionals earmark items that require relocation to our facility for focused attention and cleanup, but these same contents must also get labeled and cataloged meticulously to prevent any delay in returning them once the items have gotten cleaned, deodorized, and dried. We have specialized equipment for recovery in our facility like ultrasonic cleaning tanks that work to improve the look and function of soot-damaged possessions.
With one of our owners being a Master Restorer through the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC), all of the work that happens through our SERVPRO team gets overseen by a competent and well-educated recovery professional. No matter when or how fire affects your Stockton home, our specialists can be there quickly to help.
Storm Damage
Storms can cause such substantial damage to structures throughout Stockton with little warning. We have a 24-hour staffed emergency line to put our customers directly in contact with members of our SERVPRO team. This immediate contact reduces delay and gets our professionals mobilized more quickly to get out and help during damaging weather conditions common to our areas like flooding, mudslides, and even wildfires.
In California alone, billions in damages occur every year on account of storms, and Stockton maintains a fair share of this statistic. When minutes count, you need a team of professionals that know how to handle flooding and other detrimental circumstances within your house, while they can simultaneously install temporary construction solutions to prevent the situation from getting worse. Our professionals can do just that for the entire state of California and have even been sought out in national disasters occurring in Kentucky, Colorado, and New York.
Even more than recovering your property and your belongings during a disaster, we know that storm damage recovery in Stockton is equally about helping our customers through the trying and traumatic experience. We arrive with portable power solutions for homes that have lost electricity. We have also helped families find their footing after a storm by getting temporary housing while restoration work gets underway, and more.
Water Damage
We are committed to helping all of the residents and business owners in Stockton save money and time when they need restoration work after a water loss incident. We are so committed to helping that we host “Lunch n’ Learn” events which occur both at Eddie’s Pizza in Stockton and our cleaning facility. These quick courses offer fast and practical tips which stress the importance of preventative measures and damage control in a crisis.
Our SERVPRO team originally got built on the back of a successful water damage restoration company servicing the Stockton area and founded by one of our co-owners, Roy Drake. This experience in the industry helped our crew to grow and excel in recovery and restoration efforts. We appreciate every available tool, device, and product that makes extraction and drying efforts occur most efficiently.
We do not measure a job based on its size, as we have the resources and the roster to handle water damage in Stockton properties regardless of their severity. We have helped to overcome damage to substantial commercial structures like the Stockton Unified School District but also been equally instrumental in helping homes battling water loss as well.
Mold Remediation
Mold can be a dangerous situation that many Stockton homes and businesses, unfortunately, must contend with over the years. Fluctuations in the relative humidity levels, and to the length of time it takes to mitigate and dry water damage and flood loss scenarios successfully, allow mold spores to seat and thrive into host materials within an affected area. Many property owners suspect its presence by a musty odor or discolored materials in damp areas. Our SERVPRO professionals can then test the environment and confirm the concentration of mold when lab analysis returns.
Mold remediation is a multi-faceted restoration service that our technicians provide Stockton properties, which often begins with containment. Confining the spores prevents them from accessing new areas of the house while our professionals are getting to work on cleaning contaminated structures. This containment involves both the use of physical plastic sheeting and zipper lock chambers in conjunction with the use of air scrubbers and hydroxyl generators.
We offer a full-service reconstruction for mold damage in Stockton homes and businesses as well when remediation efforts demand the removal of overly compromised structural elements and construction materials. We have experienced professionals that can utilize controlled demolition to ensure that installation goes smoothly and more efficiently to save you time and money.
We know how valuable a fast and confident response is to any emergency that threatens your home or business in our area. As a top-tier franchise, we have technicians available 24/7 to help – se habla español. No matter what disasters come to your doorstep, our SERVPRO of Stockton team can make it “Like it never even happened.” Give us a call today at (209) 477-3090.

The Extraction Equipment We Use in Flooded Stockton Homes
When it comes to natural disasters, Stockton residents are all too familiar with the often wide array of threats they can face throughout the year. While many people know they can depend on us for our fast response times, you might want to know the work we get started once we arrive.
With flood damage, your Stockton home gets faced with a strict timeline to address its condition before things continually get worse. One of the initial steps that must get taken by our SERVPRO Franchise professionals is thorough extraction.
Our professionals that arrive at your flood-damaged address have many tools and advanced equipment designed to help extract water from your property fast in an emergency. In our SERVPRO Green Fleet of service vehicles that arrive with our highly-trained technicians, we have a truck-mounted pump that can quickly remove excess water pooling in regions of your house.
The team also has an array of handheld machines and tools that can work to extract floodwater from the property as well. Portable sump pumps and wet-vacs with extraction wands provide a more direct removal service and can access tighter spaces that could prove challenging for the large extraction equipment to reach and effect. The Solution To All Your Water Damage Issues In Lincoln Village Is The Team At SERVPRO
2/6/2019 (Permalink)
SERVPRO of Stockton is the obvious choice when a water emergency needs cleanup.
Why SERVPRO Is The Answer For Water Cleanup In Lincoln Village
Water is essential to a comfortable life in Lincoln Village. As long as your home’s plumbing, appliances, and fixtures do their jobs, it is rare to find a need for water removal or intensive drying. When a pipe bursts, a hose disconnects, or a toilet overflows, suddenly an excess of water makes life difficult. Large quantities of uncontained water are best managed by professionals with the equipment and training to mitigate the damage caused.
Everyone performs minor water cleanup duties in Lincoln Village, sponging up a spill or closing an open window during a rainstorm. It can be hard to determine when a water mishap becomes a water emergency requiring expert assistance. Allowing water to collect can lead to secondary damage, which is why we offer water damage assessment.
When water soaks into structural components like drywall or hardwood floors they can swell and distort. Once these building materials warp or crumble its structural integrity can become an issue. Building materials holding excessive moisture for more than 24 to 48 hours expose the home to the risk of mold growth. These severe side effects of water damage make it clear why SERVPRO crews need to respond.
Water cleanup must be thorough and followed by a specific drying protocol. The IICRC develops international standards for water loss mitigation. Our technicians master the many aspects of water removal, including detecting moisture levels and searching for hidden pockets of water with infrared scanning devices. Applying these standards consistently delivers the best results, and that is why SERVPRO should be called during a water emergency.
Depending on the source of the water, contamination can be an issue. Clean or Category 1 water usually can be pumped or extracted for disposal in the municipal sanitary system. Category 2 and Category 3 water, also called Gray and Black water contains increasing amounts of contaminants and might need disposal as a hazardous waste. Sewer backups and overland flood have a high probability of animal or human waste and chemicals. Handling this water can expose individuals to toxins, clarifying why SERVPRO’s trained and properly protected and equipped technicians are best prepared to clean up contaminated water.
SERVPRO of Stockton is the obvious choice when a water emergency needs cleanup. Schedule an assessment by calling (209) 477-3090.

Stockton Homeowners Love SERVPRO Water Loss Services for Many Reasons
11/29/2018 (Permalink)
Stockton Property Owners Breathe a Sigh of Relief When SERVPRO Arrives for a Water Loss Service
Why SERVPRO uses IICRC Certified Technicians for Water Damage in Stockton Homes
The impact of water spills can only be measured several months after the initial damage has been cleared. One of the reasons homes are so vulnerable to water is that moisture can remain undetected for several months in crawlspaces, attics or between floorboards. These moisture pockets not only weaken structures but can become hotbeds for secondary damages such as mold growth. Ensuring a positive, professional and comprehensive cleanup is not always easy for a homeowner.
The problem with water damage in Stockton properties is that the longer it is left, the more damage it causes. SERVPRO is one of few providers to guarantee a 24-hour emergency call line for homeowners who notice water damage and can organize a service in as little as four hours of notification of loss. We can make this promise because we use local technicians who live and work here every day.
No two water damage services are the same. Small details like whether the affected area is carpeted or bare floorboards can make a crucial difference. SERVPRO has technicians that hold IICRC certificates in applied structural drying (ASD) as well as carpet maintenance. These are the small differences that make us the restoration agency of choice for homeowners suffering from property damages.
In any job where water is concerned the primary effort is to remove water as quickly as possible. However, we take care to ensure no further damage is caused during this process. Carpets, for example, become up to 50% weaker when saturated with water. Using portable extraction units, we take a measured approach to drying, often running over the affected area several times to ensure we do not damage your fittings.
Once a SERVPRO technician is satisfied that all signs of moisture are removed, we can begin to take preventive measures to avoid further damage. Preventative measures could include using a moisture meter to detect saturation levels inside walls or beneath floorboards. It could also include removing carpets to ensure both sides are cleaned and applying anti-microbial treatments to prevent secondary damages.

Could You be Making a Mistake Where Humidity and Mold in Your Lincoln Village Home are Concerned?

Mold can spread very quickly when you least expect it. Stay vigilant and contact team SERVPRO should you see mold in your home.
Leaky Pipes Not Necessary for a Residence to Sustain Mold Damage in Lincoln Village
Many residences today have built-in features to cut down on wasted energy. Several homes in Lincoln Village often have air-tight seals that prevent the loss of climate-controlled air in the exterior from escaping to the outside, and vice-versa. These homes can succumb to other situations because of their construction.
The regular activities that residents engage in during the typical day can lead to mold damage in Lincoln Village. Microbes can start affecting the home's interior as soon as water vapor levels rise. Activities that produce water vapor in large quantities include showering, cooking, and even breathing.
Typically, these activities cause no severe effects but when inside a tightly constructed home, the water vapor remains inside. Even though microbes cannot enter as easily in this type of home as they can in another one, they still exist on clothing worn outside, shoes, food, and other objects carried inside.
SERVPRO remediates mold damage wherever we locate its presence. We look for it with our moisture detectors, as mold and mildew become more active in such locations. Once found, we go to work getting it out of your house.
The remediation process can require the cutting apart and removal of damaged materials. We always try to minimize this to keep costs low and also to keep the project from taking any longer than it absolutely must. Our goal is to work as rapidly as we can while still finding all of the damaged areas and getting them fully remediated.
Professional cleaning of personal belongings and other household contents needing attention due to mold damage is another service we provide at SERVPRO. If space permits, we can do this on-site. If we need more space than your home allows for the set-up of our equipment, we can box these items up and do the work at our secure location. We always treat your possession with the care they deserve, as well as give you a detailed inventory of each box. We continually update these lists as we perform the cleaning and restoration work, so you never have to guess about a specific item's location.
To prevent mold damage in the future, we recommend a heavy duty but low-maintenance dehumidifier for your home. Preventing the moisture and condensation accumulating again can keep explosive growth under control. Call SERVPRO of Stockton at (209) 477-3090 to find out how we can help you keep your home in pristine condition.

Restoration & Insurance
5/25/2018 (Permalink)
How Much Does Mitigation and Restoration Cost? This is a good question. When a disaster strikes a property, people deserve to know what the repairs will cost. At first glance, mitigation and restoration work seems expensive. That is because the labor costs and equipment charges have to support “the cost of doing business” for services that are not readily seen or understood. For example, restorative drying equipment has to be delivered and picked up at each job site. Administrative work is also required to gather job-photographs, measurements, floor-plan sketches and job diaries. These administrative tasks are required to document the work progress and the costs for you, for your insurance company, or a property management agent.
For the most part, mitigation and restoration costs are determined by using a national third party costing program that features a regional rate sheet. Some of the charges are hourly rates, others are based on the square foot or lineal-foot measurements, and some fees are based upon daily equipment charges.
Most restoration contractors, many general contractors and the majority of insurance companies agree to use these established labor and line item costs. In other words, most reputable companies in the property damage recovery industry charge similar prices.
How Much Will Your Mitigation Work Cost?
Your insurance policy is a legal contract between you and your insurance company. (SERVPRO does not make interpretations concerning your policy or coverage.) Your Insurance Agent can help you understand your policy.
The purpose of insurance is to return your structure and your contents to the condition they were in “one-second before” the damage occurred. Insurance does not pay for mental stress or inconvenience. Some policies may pay for additional living expense if the damage is so severe you need to be relocated. Your insurance company will issue a claim number to identify your loss. All contractors and vendors will need to reference your claim number when they submit invoices (sometimes referred to as estimates). An Insurance Adjuster will also be assigned to your claim.
Adjusters require information from the restoration company. That is another reason why insurance companies pay us to make a site visit, provide an estimate and a "scope" of services. Adjusters are certified representatives of the insurance company. They also make sure you're properly taken care of per the terms of the coverage you purchased according to the details in your printed policy. They also review and oversee the restoration project to its satisfactory conclusion. This is to assure that the insurance company is not taken advantage of by you (the policyholder) or by the service provider who is working on the claim.
Before the work is underway most restoration companies will discuss a "ballpark cost" including an opinion as to how long the project should take. Before the job is completed "hard numbers" will be presented. At SERVPRO of Stockton, we follow national price guidelines approved by the major insurance companies. Our costs are fair and they are regionally competitive. Our job is to work on your behalf, to your satisfaction. Our pledge is to fulfill our famous slogan, "Like it never even happened."
SERVPRO is your Refrigerator Hero

How to Eliminate Serious Refrigerator Odors
During daily use, refrigerators will often pick up bad odors from food. These odors are usually controlled by performing regular refrigerator cleaning using a mild detergent and by keeping an odor absorbent material inside the refrigerator. Baking soda or granulated charcoal is the most common deodorizer used for this purpose. However, in time these absorbents become “full.” They lose effectiveness after a few weeks to a couple of months. Change them before they wear out. This keeps a refrigerator smelling clean and fresh.
