Hot Water Extraction

Note the change in the carpet.

Cleaning carpets is hard work, but it is satisfying. Seeing instant improvement in carpet appearance is gratifying. The photo shows an IICRC trained technician performing hot water extraction (steam) carpet cleaning.

There are several ways to cleaning carpeting including shampoo, dry systems and hot water extraction. Each system can do a nice job in maintaining a carpet. Studies show how clean carpets will last longer than soiled carpets. that's because solid residue, especially sands and grit will wear and grind away carpet fibers.

SERVPRO of Stockton performs all three major methods of carpet cleaning. The photo shows our own office being cleaning. We have a pathway through the office into our warehouse. The pathway can get dirty from oily soiling. We use hot water extraction because detergents can be applied to the oily area of the carpet to attack the soiling, then hot water is used to flush the detergent and soil away. Less residue that way, and the fibers stay clean longer. Note the color difference between the cleaned and dirty portion of carpet.
