Skyler points out that by drilling small holes and feeding a tube through it, these machines can force "dry air in and moist air out." Using a dry force machine allows for SERVPRO to confidently attend to other tasks during a remediation, knowing that dry air is circulating through the moist cavity between the drywall sheet.
 
Skyler demonstrates that by "simply taking the hose off of the ports, we can go ahead and change it from vacuum to forcing air." The versatility of this machine is one of its great features, as we can change its function in different situations. "The vacuum is more useful for the flooring because it sucks moisture out of the wood floor and out of the tile...Our forcing of the air is more useful for putting dry air into a moist surface, such as drywall."
