Hoarder Kitchen Transformed
Hoarding is a mental illness that often leads to dangerous, even life threatening conditions for the hoarder and their neighbors. Hoarding of piles of debris presents a fire danger and a home for rodents and insects. During the cleanup of one hoarder scene, our technicians (dressed in unfortunate and using respirators) found 21 dead rat bodies among the clutter in just the living room. In another situation we used four huge builder debris boxes to haul away the debris from a two bedroom apartment.
Hoarding is an unfortunate problem for the person with the problem and those who live next door, or will inherit the mess... such as landlords and relatives.
Because of the clutter and rotting food scraps a harding scene is a bio-hazard and it is a breeding ground for bacteria and mold. It is urgent to get the site cleaned up.
