Aftermath of Rain Storms
Each year Northern California is hit by one or more heavy rains, dubbed storms. Each year, several months after the rains have struck, SERVPRO of Stockton receives requests for mold cleanup because buildings that were wetted by the rains were not properly dried. Builds that remain wet or damp will usually cause mold to grow.... mold thrives in damp buildings. Mold feeds off of the paper liners on damp sheetrock. It likes still damp air. Yes, mold, dry rot and bacteria growth is often the result when a wet building is not properly, or quickly dried. Mold can pose a health threat to occupants and it will certainly damage structural materials in the building. The mold and damage restoration may be far more expensive than what it would have cost to dry the structure in the first place. Don't make this mistake, call SERVPRO as soon as your property gets wets. 209-477-3090
